Bosch APAS - the system cobot
Since 2014, the former automotive supplier, which today can probably rather be described as a tech group, has been offering an MRK. The APAS assistant inline (other models are also available) offers unique robot kinematics with specially developed sensor skin (but cf. AirSkin). It senses resistance from 5 cm even before actual contact. This resistance means that no collision can or should take place. Thus the question arises whether the current guidelines are to be applied to the APAS.
Bosch-Rexroth's own version has a reach of 91 cm and a payload of 5.5 kg with a dead weight of 35 kg. The version "pimped" by Kuka has the data 110 cm, 10 kg, 60 kg. IP 54 in each case.
The APAS seems to be more interesting for larger companies that want complete solutions. Bosch can help here with further machines and software, so that the APAS - in whatever version - then becomes part of the whole. The optical control mentioned in the following video is based on a monochrome camera.
The book "Introduction to Human-Machine Collaboration" gives you a good overview into the world of human-robot collaboration for little money. The author of this blog is available for a walk through your production/manufacturing(detail) to then provide concrete cobot suggestions incl. funding opportunities.
