Comau: Change industrial robot to Cobot
The Comau Racer 5 was introduced here a few months ago. With a payload of 5 kg and a reach of 809 mm, it can reach speeds of up to 6 m/sec in industrial mode. If it detects a human, it automatically slows down to collaborative speed. Its other advantages include high repeatability of 0.03 mm.
Comau now shows how it works in practice with a small production line. The automatic assembly of the skateboard could be further automated by a cobot inserting screws. After an introduction to the Industry 4.0 Competence Center, the show begins. It is also shown how the parts are set correctly using image processing and AI.
