Let's think 10 years ahead: Do robotic arms have a future?

This humanoid robot was presented at IREX Tokyo. At first it moves very clumsily, but then it becomes much more stable. In direct comparison with a robotic arm, it has several advantages: Greater reach and two arms. Ideally, it can really move like a human and also use its fingers. If all this were given, there would be no need to convert a workplace. Humans and humanoid robots could work alternately. Perhaps even together.


The question would then be what disadvantages it would have: The price would certainly be one. However, this can already be put into perspective if a hybrid cobot is needed today. It is also not yet really supple, i.e. the cycle time today would be significantly less than that of a human. Hence the question, what will happen in the next 10 years? I can imagine that today's deficits will soon no longer exist. Such a robot would also be ideal for use in nursing.

Addendum: It would be conceivable to use him on weekends: If there are problems in the unmanned shifts, it plays everything to an employee sitting at home. The employee then directs the robot to solve the problem.
