Case study: Cobot in the food manufactory / baking factory

On the one hand, there is strong price competition in the German food market; on the other hand, the number of highly specialized food manufacturers who can charge far above-average prices is steadily increasing. Their products are sold in particular by grocery chains such as Rewe, Edeka, Billa and Migros. This is because, in addition to higher margins, these food retailers thus create a range of products that is not available from discounters, thus bypassing the price comparison and creating a shopping experience at the same time.

These manufacturers are characterized by frequently changing seasonal articles and a product variety that requires corresponding flexibility in terms of automation requirements. At the same time, the quantities are not so high that a "large solution" would pay off. In this respect, everything speaks for cobots. The linked video shows various applications in a bakery. However, the number of medium-sized bakeries is limited, hence the previous reference to manufactories. The video again shows a wealth of possible applications - ergonomically often very sensible.
