Gastronomy crowdfunding: Universal Robots could profit

The Leipzig-based startup DaVinci Kitchen, which has already been presented here, is raising money as of today. Via the Seedmatch platform, at least 100,000 euros are to be generated in tranches starting at 250 euros. Previously, 0.7 million euros had already been raised. Among the strategic partners of DaVinci is Apetito AG. The business model consists of a cobot behind glass preparing pasta dishes as desired. These can be selected and paid for via an app. According to the business plan, 100 restaurants are to be operated by 2024. Whether these would be their own or franchised is irrelevant to the potential cobot supplier: he could sell 100 cobots upon realization and this would then only be the beginning. Such a restaurant kiosk takes up little space and could be located, for example, in train stations or shopping malls. Therefore, Univeral Robots can profit from a success of the campaign. This is another example of how cobots can increasingly become an integral part of mass-produced products (e.g. welding cells, etc.), and the larger quantities associated with this will generally lower the price of cobots. Price reductions justified in this way are not at the expense of margins - on the contrary.

The video was obviously created for the crowd campaign. By the way, these lines here are not to be considered a (purchase) recommendation. The blog only wants to inform. From the cobot industry's point of view, success and, above all, guest acceptance by customers would be desirable. After all, many a craftsman or SME entrepreneur could acquire a taste for their own cobot. The preparation of the dishes takes a little time and can be observed.
