Is Franka Emika on its way to becoming a global market leader?

In a new video, Franka Emika CEO Simon Haddadin surprises us by saying "we have created one of the best-selling industrial robot systems in the world."

The statement (approx. at 0:35) is surprising, since Franka has not been on the market that long. Even if Franka were to sell 1,500 units of its Panda per month today (old target figure), the company is still too young to come close to the 35,000 units that the world market leader Universal Robots has sold with its models. But other suppliers may already have been overtaken. And if sales were that rapid, world market leadership seems feasible. Universal Robots, which has been on the market for over 10 years, is likely to achieve annual sales of around 10,000 cobots.
