Mobile Cobot Platform

After the last article was about the use of MRK on CNC machines and was viewed 228 times within four days (record!), we will continue with the automated operation of a CNC machine (in the video again from Haas). - Further down, another variant is referred to.


The Danish startup EasyRobotics has developed a mobile work platform with parts management systems for Universal Robots, on which a cobot is mounted and which - depending on requirements - can easily be moved to the desired machine. Thus, one cobot can operate multiple machines. These systems are critical to the correct positioning and efficient handling of raw materials and finished parts. Not visible in the video are the large rollers under the platform on which the robot is mounted.

There is a good chance that SMEs can receive funding for robots & stations - up to 50% depending on the federal state.

As mentioned, the startup comes from Denmark. The reference is made because the Danish robotics scene is leading. Germany has some catching up to do.

Variant zero point clamping system

Dipl.-Ing. Ullrich Möller, sales engineer at the company Willich Elektrotechnik GmbH, has pointed out a probably more effective alternative. By using zero-point clamping systems, the re-adjustment and necessary test runs (is the cobot again exactly at the previously programmed position?) can be dispensed with. He has adapted the system offered by Schunk accordingly. Pneumatic systems are used for stronger forces.
