RobCo: Extremely small, thanks to modularity (case study)

The Munich-based startup RobCo was only recently presented again. A few weeks ago, it found an extremely prominent investor in Frank Thelen(link). RobCo or Kea Robotics, as the company was called until recently, produces modular lightweight robots (no cobots!). Until now, their main advantage has been seen as extreme flexibility, but now they are adding compactness. That's because, as a new video shows, when short modules are used or individual modules are omitted, space requirements can be minimized. I can imagine that such a small set with low payload costs significantly less.

In the video, a RobCo is working with an attachment from perfecdos. The attachment is probably a proprietary development of the specialist for sophisticated microdispensing systems from Oberhaching (Munich district). The managing director says very appropriately in the video "there are applications that the customer cannot even imagine". From experience, this often applies to both sides: The robot manufacturer probably does not have niche providers on its radar, while the manufacturer is not aware of the current technological possibilities. Therefore, my conviction with innovative products is: You have to make them known. Potential customers can quickly imagine whether the product is useful to them and how.

Incidentally, perfecdos is probably one of the many smaller high-tech companies that frequently exist in Bavaria or Baden-Württemberg. Ideal markets for robotics, since the management is very tech-savvy.
