Robotics job market: no boom

Every quarter, Dr. Holger Schmidt, operator of the Netzoekonom.de website, evaluates the digital job market. He uses the data analysis of the Index Group on behalf of the Handelsblatt as a basis. Index analyzes job ads in print and from 400,000 websites. The overall development is very good, but the multi-year comparison of robotics, which I compiled, is significantly weaker. Among other things, positions in AI, online marketing, online editors, cloud, but also 3D printing are recorded for the overall development within the scope of the evaluation. Ultimately, everything that has to do with digitization. I am not aware of what falls under robotics ("-experts"). Is it just the programmers or is it also the sale?...

Robotics had its zenith at the beginning of 2019

Robotics saw a significant increase compared to the last quarter of 2020, but is still far from the level seen in 2019. As can be seen, job openings were already falling before the pandemic began. 2019 was also known to be a bad year. At least for programmers, it seems reasonable to assume that their demand will be disproportionately affected by sales trends. At the same time, the question arises as to whether the productivity of programmers has not increased enormously as a result of the ever larger program libraries, some of which can be accessed, and as a result of new programming help ("no-code"). The technical development in general (more user-friendly systems) may also have contributed to an increase in productivity.
