Techman All-in-One AI Cobot series comes - 25 kg
Now it is fixed, the market launch of the Cobot series already presented in March(link) in Tokyo and in Europe exclusively here. The Taiwanese manufacturer, in which Omron has a stake, has so far already had a product range comparable in terms of data to that of Universal Robots and FANUC. In addition, the Techman cobots have traditionally had a camera built in, which until now has been able to read QR codes and more. With the new version, however, Techman could replace the previous bundles "cobot without camera" + "large optical solution from a vendor". At least that's how it seems to me. In addition, the safety aspects were significantly increased and also a robot with 25 kg payload was announced. I would not overestimate the position of the shareholder Omron. Techman, it seems, does what it wants and is increasingly openly competing directly with Omron. Omron, in turn, has given Techman inadequate support. We heard from medium-sized companies that they were only shown a Cobot upon request. The competition's sales department, on the other hand, always has one in the car.
To the press release with some advertising slogans. Everyday life will be interesting. But as already written in March, the series can be a "big hit", possibly a game changer:
Techman Robot announces its all-in-one AI Cobot series
Fusing a powerful and precise robotic arm, native AI processing, an intelligent vision system, and a comprehensive software suite into a single, easy-to-deploy package
Taoyuan, Taiwan, November 15, 2022 - Techman Robot has announced the launch of its TM AI Cobot series. AI Cobot is a collaborative robot that combines a powerful and precise robotic arm with a native AI inference engine and intelligent vision system in a complete package that is ready for use in factories and accelerates the transition to Industry 4.0.
TM AI Cobot works on the principle of being intelligent, simple and safe. By combining visual processing in the robotic arm, the AI Cobot can perform fast and accurate pick-and-place, AMR, palletizing, welding, semiconductor and product manufacturing, AOI inspections, and food preparation, among many other applications that can be accelerated by AI image processing.
It is the only intelligent series of robotic arms on the market equipped with a comprehensive AI software suite. It includes TM AI+ Training Server, TM AI+ AOI Edge, TM Image Manager and TM 3DVisionTM, which allow companies to train and fine-tune their system to their application.
Announcing the launch, Shi-chi Ho, President of Techman Robot, said, "Techman Robot has redefined the future of industrial robotics with the introduction of its AI Cobot series, which is equipped with a native AI engine, a powerful and precise robotic arm, and a vision system that is a perfect combination of "brain, hands and eyes." With our integrated all-in-one system and supporting software suite, we lead the industry in ease of integration, accelerating productivity while improving quality and opening new opportunities."
Industry leading force of 25 kg
Reaffirming its commitment to innovation, Techman Robot recently unveiled its AI Cobot product series at the "Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Show 2022" with a payload of 25 kg - an industry first. This new model will be available at a later date.
Techman now with new German language website
After the end of the press release, a reference to Techman's new, modern German-language website. If the Taiwanese would rely on Omron, they would not really need it. (25 kg is also offered by FANUC, 20 kg is available from Universal Robots and Doosan.) The price will be interesting. If the solution really competes with existing ones and is easy to set up, €50,000 + x for 12 kg would be conceivable. However, Techman would then be committing to the "niche" of these applications.
In the video, the music reminds me a little of the old Universal Robots:
