Universal Robots confirms David Reger

David Reger, founder and CEO of Neura Robotics, and his company are featured in the current Wirtschaftswoche magazine under the title "The Miracle of Metzingen? The article states that the market for collaborative robots is of less interest to him. This is because the quantitative lead of the competition will hardly catch up with his company in this (robot) class. "The next big thing (...) will be a household robot." Samsung is demonstrably working on this, The United Robotics Group could "incidentally" repurpose its assistance robots for households as well. Vorwerk, I suspect, is also interested in the topic. Not to forget Tesla or Musk with one of his vehicles. Against this background, one may be curious about the mix of robotics for companies and robotics for households that Neura Robotics will show at the upcoming automatica on its with 500 sqm a.o. large booth. A household robot will definitely be there, according to the press release (see also photo).

A few days ago, Universal Robots announced its intention to present something "big" at automatica. With this, the market leader will attract a lot of attention. Since, so it is heard, important partners have been informed in advance about the content of the "big one", presumably some of them will also announce or already present interesting things. Competitors in the cobot class will receive correspondingly less attention. Their efforts will be somewhat wasted. Who knows, maybe some competitors have counted on the news from Universal Robots. Franka Emika has already presented its new Cobot Production 3 this week on the occasion of the Hannover Messe, Rethink Robotics is probably waiting for the Motek.

Even if Agile Robots demonstrates its Diana 7 live or Techman presents its new series, they will probably receive significantly less attention. This handicap that the "followers" of Universal Robots have, Neura Robotics circumvents. On the one hand MAIRA (is a "cognitive robot", not a cobot), LARA and MAV have already been presented some time ago and then the announced intelligent further robot to be presented is for a completely different (media) target group and worth an info anyway, as it is completely new. The attention should be given here. As a result, a new market will be entered on which the cards will be redistributed. And it will be much larger than that of the cobots.

Universal Robots is like a snowplow

As a cycling fan, I like to listen to the podcast Windkante. There, the RSV Irschenberg (district of Miesbach) was asked about the reasons for the success of its youth work. The answer: The professional team of Bora-hansgrohe is located in neighboring Rosenheim. They are like a snowplow and have cleared the way, e.g. for authorities. Perhaps that's how Universal Robots can be described. As a snow plow that has cleared the way for the industry or made the road passable in the first place, but also cannot be overtaken.

By the way, Universal Robots will broadcast the performance live on the Internet on June 21 at 11:15 a.m.(registration).
