voraus robotik: The second strike - cooperation with Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik

Shortly after Dr. Jens Kotlarski introduced voraus robotik GmbH here(link), there was a first surprise: Agile Robots took over the rights to "Yu"(link), the cobot developed by voraus's predecessor Yuanda. Today, as a second stroke, a cooperation with Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik was announced. It also shows the approach of industrial robotics to the cobots. Fitting, by the way, to the article scheduled for tomorrow here on the life cycle of robotics companies. To the press release:

Cloos turns its QRC-300 into a cobot

Haiger/Hanover, November 24, 2022 - Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik, the pioneer in the field of welding technology for manual and automated applications, and the Hanover-based deep-tech startup voraus robotik are entering into a cooperation in the field of robot welding. The main goal of the collaboration is to open up new market segments in the field of turnkey welding applications for medium-sized companies.

Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik showed a new approach to robot welding at EuroBLECH 2022: The QRC-300 industrial robot is equipped with a new control generation that allows collaborative setup operation. Small and medium-sized companies in particular thus get the best of both worlds: robust industrial robot hardware and state-of-the-art cobot software. As a pioneer in modern welding technology, Cloos relies on the software of voraus robo-tik GmbH.
voraus robotik integrates its control software and modern user interface. Thus, both companies combine robust, precise and fast industrial robotics with a user-friendly, flexible and modern user interface from collaborative robotics. The intelligent welding functionalities of Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik are directly integrated. The result is a complete system that raises robot welding to a new level and addresses newcomers in particular - also from an economic point of view.
In addition, voraus robotik and Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik continue to work closely together to continuously improve system autonomy and quality - a guarantee for the customer to always be one step ahead. Both companies are thus creating the basis for a long-term and sustainable partnership.
"In recent years, the welding industry has focused strongly on cobots with their simple programming. With our new concept of combining the QRC-300 and the robustness of an industrial robot with simple, hand-guided programming, we see very great potential to further merge both worlds and their individual strengths," says Stephan Pittner, CEO of Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik.
"With Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik, we have been able to convince an internationally established and renowned partner in the field of robot welding of the advantages of our modular software. By integrating our operating system into the existing Cloos robots and seamlessly connecting the welding-specific hardware and software, we create an uncompromising solution for robotic welding that is not yet available on the market
," says Dr. Jens Kotlarski, founder and CEO of voraus robotik.
