Wandelbots with 300 million euro valuation
The current company valuation of the no-code specialist Wandelbots can now be quantified: The value of the Dresden-based startup has been estimated at around 300 million euros. The most recent capital increase was reported here last week and a value of 300 million euros was mentioned. Compared to the previous capital increase in July 2020, this corresponds to a tripling. Due to the authorized capital, the value can already be higher than mentioned. The money will be used for internationalization and the further extensive expansion of the workforce(vacancies).
As the actual founders did not or could not participate in the capital increase, their share has fallen further. Almost 18% of the capital is now held by the Insight Luxembourg XII fund, which participated for the first time in the capital increase and thus has the highest cost per share. The fund belongs to Insight Partner and is now the largest shareholder. The New York-based company had previously invested in Blinkist, N26, HelloFresh, BlaBlaCar, Twitter, trivago, Shopify and many other startups(link). Founded in 1995, it manages about $30 billion. Unusual for us Germans: the startups are ultimately financed by the retirement pensions of Americans. In contrast to Germany, the retirement provisions of the American middle class consist of (stock) funds. Retirees therefore often have more money at their disposal in old age than their German peers.
The idea for no-code programming was developed by the founders in 2011. The company was formally founded at the end of 2017. This shows how important it is to have staying power, especially since "really" high sales can probably only be expected in a few years.
