Zimmer Group: Wireless robot communication ("Match")
With a video, the Zimmer Group draws attention to the expansion of its Smart Communication Module. Their use eliminates the need for communication cables on the robot arm. These do not look too nice, threaten to wear out with many movements and can also be a nuisance. Zimmer already received the German Innovation Award in 2019 for the Wireless IO-Link. Now the integration into "MATCH" is taking place.
Now there is, or soon will be, another module: The new BCM-F and BCM-B IO-Link bridge communication modules significantly reduce the connecting cables between the gripper and the controller, but the performance and functionality in terms of wired solutions remain unchanged, according to Zimmer Group.
It is remarkable how the Zimmer Group - in addition to its mechanical expertise - has built up the know-how required for BCM.
