Active exoskeleton from exoIQ lifts 5 kg per arm

Hamburg-based exoIQ GmbH, founded in 2017, is presenting an exoskeleton at automatica. Practical tests are scheduled to begin in October. While the exoskeleton already presented here by Comau promises relief for the back, exoIQ states a lifting capacity of 5 kg per arm. This is provided electro-pneumatically. The musculature in the shoulders, arms and neck is relieved by this and thanks to the individual adjustment. The objects to be lifted (e.g. tools on a belt) should feel almost weightless, as should the arms.

In view of these plus points, S700, as the startup's product is called, is supposed to be a real innovation that has never existed before. The exoskeleton is powered by a rechargeable battery. A positive side effect to the reduced fatigue is the longer-lasting concentration of its wearer. Exoskeletons are especially helpful when working overhead (e.g., automotive manufacturing employee stands under the car).

The largest shareholder of exoIQ GmbH is TTS Tooltechnic Systems Holding AG with 70%. Festool GmbH also belongs to the holding company.
