Occupational safety during MRK use

As sensitive as most cobots are, their weight can injure people, especially at higher speeds. At slow speeds, even if they move a tool, e.g. at eye level, and the human is not paying attention, in which case the human is more likely to be the culprit.

In production lines where MRK work alone, the robots are usually supposed to run at high or even maximum speed. This video shows how human-robot interaction is possible without protective fences: By means of a laser, an approaching employee is detected and the speed is reduced. If the employee gets too close, a stop is made, but not an emergency stop. If the colleague leaves, work continues. The whole thing works perfectly because the monitoring control is linked to that of the robot.
