Grippers from Weiss Robotics for precision & safety

The still young Ludwigsburg-based company has completely revamped its website. Reason enough to point out its sophisticated grippers, which can not only be highly precise, but also fast. The highly accurate force control is shown in this video starting at second 18: A raw egg is crushed with exactly the required force that it breaks to the necessary extent, but sensitively enough that the eggshell does not "crumble". The gripper independently senses the force required, so no lengthy trials are necessary. In the present case, for example, a quail egg or an ostrich egg could be taken alternately. The shells are of different thickness/hardness - no problem.
