Case study: MRK in the shipping of ready meals
Migros, the largest Swiss food retailer (in the legal form of a cooperative committed to the social) with its own production, produces 2 million ready meals p.a.. These have been and continue to be stacked by hand in autoslaves. Up to now, a 5 kg sheet metal was placed between the individual "tiers" quite laboriously (back/ bending/ danger of squeezing), rather finely adjusted. This is now done by a Stäubli TX2-90 with a payload of 9 kg and a reach of 145 cm. Correctly, it must be mentioned that the robot will hardly pay for itself. However, it will increase work safety and quality and - quite conceivably - in the next step, the ready meals could be automatically sorted.
The author of this blog is available for a walk through your production/manufacturing(detail) to then provide specific cobot suggestions incl. funding opportunities. Both SMEs and large companies will be visited.
