Han's/ Neura Robots: First info on the new "Engineering in Germany" cobots

Convincing Cobots? David Reger, managing director of Han's Robots Germany GmbH, has provided a first look at his company's new robots. The company is a subsidiary of China's Han's Robots, which is the Elfin series has brought out. However, Han's Robots Germany sets itself apart from Elfin. The robots developed in Germany operate under the brand name "Neura Robotics", which was only recently protected. Han's was described as an investor, but said it was independent. Therefore, the company would rename itself Neura Robotics. Two cobots are offered at the beginning: Lara 5 with a payload of 5 kg at a reach of 80 cm and Lara 10 (10 kg/ 100 cm). The cobots are naturally intended to be particularly sensitive and easy to operate and are among the few robots with IP 66. Each of the six axes has force-torque sensors. The cobots are supposed to be cheaper than the current ones on the market! The top speed of over 16 km/h (4.5 m/sec.) is very impressive. The particularly affordable and soon available Lara series will be supplemented by Mira in the course of 2021. Based on its sensor technology, this cobot should be able to recognize people in good time and thus also enjoy its speed in its vicinity. The cobot reacts quasi "antimagnetically" - it deviates from the human. Once the human is out of the way again, it resumes its speed. Whether this will be possible in Germany in this way is not known to me (occupational health and safety). In any case, Mira recognizes the human before contact!

A real innovation is the available speech recognition. Apparently for safety reasons, the cobot always repeats the command and waits for its confirmation. Of course, this takes a bit of time, but it is still helpful when the user does not have his hands available, for example, or prefers to talk. The dialog is in English.

The image recognition also seems to be mature and to have more features.

The cobots are supplemented by a mobile robot ("MAV") with a payload of 1,500 kg and the considerable dimensions 91 x 153 cm. The speed of 7 km/ h (2 m/sec.) is decent. Lara and Mira can be connected to form a hybrid cobot.

It will be exciting to see how Lara & Mira will be distributed. During the presentation, potential partners were asked to contact us. The low price, however, rather calls for direct sales via the Internet.

The author of this blog is significantly involved in the AI/robotics project Boost-Bot project. He advises robotics companies on market/ business development and financing issues (especially in bank meetings he can score points as a "neutral" third party due to his market knowledge). He is also available to potential users for a walk-through of your production/manufacturing or by phone based on photos/descriptions at a fixed price(detail) to then make concrete proposals for the use of cobots and other robots incl. funding opportunities. Both SMEs and large companies are visited. Among other things in Bavaria a 50% investment promotion is conceivable. The standard book about cobots also comes from him. In addition, he is very familiar with the KfW-Corona programs (incl. exemptions).
