Cheap & Efficient Chinese Grippers

Part of the philosophy of this blog is to always present inexpensive solutions. These are often solutions from China. This is done against the background that many SMEs do not accept expensive solutions. The hardware presented here is not tested, but it is assumed that the manufacturer's specifications are more or less correct. Those who want to ensure that they will definitely get the specified accuracy/speed etc. should perhaps prefer a proven (German) manufacturer. Otherwise, the same can apply here as for a commuter: Those who use their car only moderately can certainly get by with an inexpensive car with simple equipment for 30 minutes a day. If, on the other hand, you work in the field and your workplace is virtually your car, you should place more value on equipment and quality. This is the introduction.

The Chinese startup DH-Robotics offers two interesting and at the same time inexpensive grippers. The 2-finger gripper AG-95 is said to cost about €3,000, can lift up to 3 kg. It has a stroke width of 95 mm, a gripping force of 15-95 N (for comparison Weiss Robotics: 15-200 N) and closing speed of 190 mm/s. The repeatability is 0.03 mm. Currently there is plug & play to Universal Robots, Hanwha and Aubo. A not so comfortable compatibility exists among others to Omron and Doosan.

The video shows a test application. The gripper is mounted on an Omron cobot, whose built-in camera helps to recognize the objects. The enormous span of the gripper as well as the not quite optimal programming (longer downtimes) can be seen well.

In addition to the AG-95 gripper described here, there is a 3-finger gripper, DH-3, whose performance data is lower than that of the AG-95.

The author of this blog is available for market research or even a walk through your production/manufacturing at a fixed price(detail), and then make specific proposals for the use of cobots and other robots incl. funding opportunities. Both SMEs and large companies are visited. Among other things in Bavaria a 50% investment promotion is conceivable. The standard book on cobots also comes from him.
