Cleaning robot with AIV suitability

Swiss startup KEMARO has received money to enter the market as part of a financing round. Its product is the first fully automated industrial cleaning robot. It autonomously drives around halls and cleans their floors. The interesting thing is that, thanks to its AI, it doesn't need to be trained. Instead, it orients itself right from the start and also accepts changes in the hall. The room is permanently mapped. The dirt is transported to the 40-liter dirt container via a brush system. The integrated dust extraction system cleans the dust from the air that is stirred up, thus reducing the general dust load. Per hour, 1,000 square meters can be cleaned. The battery lasts for 2 hours.

When asked about profitability, the founders point out that a 10,000-square-meter hall incurs cleaning costs of just under €50,000 per year (strictly speaking francs, but the difference between francs and euros is small) and that the costs can be halved with a KEMARO. The purchase price would often be earned in less than a year. This suggests a purchase price of between €20,000 and €30,000. I can imagine that with relatively little additional effort this robot could be "pimped" into an AIV/ AMR, e.g. everything a bit bigger, second axis - but omission of cleaning tools. Well, it would only be suitable for simpler applications (fleet management would be missing), but still.

Conversely, another question arises: Does it make sense to offer a cleaning unit as an accessory for the mobile robots from MIR or Omron? The robots could push a kind of "snow plow" in front of them. In their free time, these mobile robots could then clean the hall and thus amtortize themselves even more flatter.

The author of this blog is available for market research or even a walk through your production/manufacturing or by phone based on photos/descriptions at a fixed price(detail), to then make concrete proposals for the use of cobots and other robots incl. funding opportunities. Both SMEs and large companies are visited. Among other things in Bavaria a 50% investment promotion is conceivable. The standard book about cobots also comes from him. In addition, he is very familiar with the KfW-Corona programs (incl. exemptions).
