Righthand Robotics: It is always detected faster

Righthand Robotics can perhaps be described as the American equivalent of the German robominds. The US company specializes in pick-and-place in the warehouse sector. So far, however, the company only seems to be "really" active in the USA and Japan. Nevertheless, its presence at LogiMat 2022 represented greater ambitions. In addition, there is a European branch in Nuremberg.

Softbank as investor

Of the $103 million received so far, a significant part comes from Softbank. The Japanese are known to be involved in a number of robotics companies. Softbank likes to take bets. Here, that the company will not only outperform - according to Crunchbase - 129 comparable companies, but that it will also manage to scale. After all, such complex pick-and-place solutions live from project business, and this is costly.

Product improvements

As before, Righthand Robotics relies on its special grippers and its own AI. The new version is six times faster than its predecessor, so the question is starting to arise whether industrial robots should not be used instead of cobots in the future to exploit the full potential.

Self Description

"RightPick 3 is the world's first autonomous piece picking solution fully designed to meet the needs of system integrators - with a modular, industry-compatible hardware design, well-defined software APIs and compliance with international guidelines. RightPick 3 picks faster and handles an even wider range of items than before, with sophisticated features such as dense packing and damage-free item handling. The system provides integrators with industry-leading performance, reliability and safety, as well as the flexibility and tools to launch their automated piece picking offering with confidence and at scale." So the company can certainly be described as confident.
