Rainbow Robotics

From Korea to Europe - is Rainbow Robotics coming?

Among the relatively few robotics exhibitors at Hannover Messe was Rainbow Robotics. The company from South Korea has been in existence for around 20 years. It comes from an environment that can probably be compared to the German Aerospace Center. As a result, it has developed humanoid robots as well as a robotic dog.

The video makes reference to the company's development:

In 2019, cobots were presented which, according to the company's own claim, are absolutely competitive. The special feature compared to the competition: The most important components were developed in-house. Rainbow Robotics thus has an extremely high added value. The domestic market is likely to be very demanding. There are currently three models, each with 6 axes. Their payload ranges from 3 kg to 10 kg and their reach varies from 85 cm to 130 cm. Thanks to IP66, harsh environments are not a problem. Programming is supposed to be simple via a tablet.

In general, the empirical value that a cobot can do the work of 0.5 to 0.8 people seems interesting. According to the information available to the author, the company currently has no intention of entering the European market. However, this is in contradiction to the participation at the Hannover Messe incl. provision of the corresponding video material. In this respect, it remains exciting and once again that the number of cobot providers is likely to increase rather than decrease.
