6-position tool changer for cobots & industrial robots

Sometimes it's the simple solutions that you have to come up with first. For me, the best examples of this so far have been a large turntable that ensured the distance to the cobot during collaboration and then moving large plates with suction pads without lifting the entire plates. The idea of changing tools is also clever. At this point, 2-cavity mold changers have been presented so far(link). Now we are talking about three times the number of grippers.

Carousel for tool change

The idea is good, but I can't think of a concrete application for six different tools. Nevertheless, the video is interesting, especially for cases where the output is manageable and cycle times are therefore secondary. A JAKA cobot from China is used here. JAKA was amazingly highly funded in 2022. However, the cobot manufacturer is only secondary here, it's the idea that counts.

The author of this blog is significantly involved in the AI/robotics project Opdra. He answers companies the question if and how a robot could be used at your company (initial analysis including recommendation). He does this nationwide in Germany at a flat rate of €1,750 net (incl. travel). The low price is possible thanks to funding. Permanently on the lookout for interesting solutions, he has already seen hundreds of applications. For this reason, his customers also include large companies that have know-how but do not know the entire market. For companies with 250 employees or more or those based in Austria or Switzerland, the flat rate does not apply. You can find more about him here.
